Album Review 1

Isle of Thieves
Only Human
Album Review by Siany

Amazing.
I could quite easily just stop there with this review and let you interpret that however you wish or let your curiosity get the better of you so you go listen to this album yourself. However, I wouldn’t be much of a writer if I did and I don’t imagine the Isle of Thieves boys would be too happy. So I’ll elaborate a bit further.
Isle of Thieves new album is a must listen album for fans of pop-rock and indie styles of music. Holding a unique sound with deep and catchy lyrics, this album had me from first song to last. I think this album is a must listen for fans of “current” music. I can’t solidly define this album to one genre as it has a far broader depth and sound than that. Each song on the album sounds different to the one before it, bringing an unusual and refreshing element most bands don’t have.
Singles “Best Mistake” and “Hollywood” are both catchy and upbeat, making them both perfect singles and no doubt anthems for Isle of Thieves fans everywhere. These two songs seem more dance anthems, the kind you could put on in your room and dance around to energetically for hours.
Other stand out songs include “Love Artificial,” which is a bit of a rockier track and reminds me of old school Greenday, making it a perfect song to rock out to or to just sit and take in the brilliance of the lyrics. “Only Human” on the other hand, has a very edgy, indie sound to it. A brilliant song that at first listen reminded me very much of Snow Patrol, proving that this bands genius can just keep surprising you with each track.
Overall this album is excellent and I feel it is a must listen for any fans of “popular” music at this time. I find it hard to pick any faults at all with this album, despite how many times it’s been on repeat. I’m sure if you listen, you will feel the same. I can officially say I’m hooked on Isle of Thieves and I look forward to their next album!
